Second Stream is a local energy consulting firm that is supporting the energy transition in Uganda by providing government, NGOs and businesses with tools and innovations to attract funding for accelerated adoption of renewable energy and its nexus effects on employment, health, agriculture and environment.
Second Stream realises the missed opportunity by governments, development partners and private sector players to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 7, 13 and 17). Through innovative approaches and partnerships, Second Stream enables clients to increase programmatic and business success to improve people’s livelihoods and reduce energy poverty and adverse effects of climate change.

Second Stream has a signed partnership with Savannah in the implementation of the digital energy innovations for energy access. This includes inputs into the design, development and operationalisation of the EMAP.
Work with MEMD and other stakeholders in the development of tools and protocols related to digital energy data access and use protocols.
With oversight from MEMD, Second Stream will provide the logistical support in implementing consultative events, capacity building, awareness, communication media engagements and reporting event outcomes.
Create an SPV to manage the EMAP beyond the pilot stage.

As a leader in AI, IoT, and blockchain developments in Uganda, Savannah is working jointly with Second Stream and the Makerere University research teamto build the digital infrastructure (featuring use of big data, artificial intelligence, internet of things, and blockchain) to operationalise the EMAP.
Savannah will support Second Stream, MEMD and Makerere University in the development of the protocols necessary to operationalise the EMAP leaning on their deep knowledge of ICT in and information security policies in Uganda.
Savannah will support the overall day-to-day operation of EMAP, including planned periodical enhancements and expansions into new markets.
